How to: Creating Light Painting

You might have seen it a few times already, but probably not under its correct name… We are talking about light painting, or also called light drawing. Most of us are familiar with the term and photo technique ‘long exposure’ (longer exposure time). Light painting is a form of long exposure, but brings it to the next level whilst creating an art piece that looks like it has been drawn even though it was taken with a camera.

Light Painting

We all have seen those stunning images of streets where streetlights or headlights on cars become trails and melt together, creating something special without seeing the actual vehicle. This unique effect in cityscape images can be created while shooting at night or in low light with longer exposure times. Of course, this is nothing new, but creating and sketching scenes and photographs specifically to use the unique effect of long exposure to create something similar to a painting is referred to as “light painting”. Photographers are specifically looking for a moving light source such as a candle, flashlight, LED lights or another light source, aiming to alter an image while using long exposure. Thus, light-painters not only take the picture as-is instead add another element by highlighting a subject, creating trails of light, flashes, and other special elements like these.

New Fujifilm Office in Madrid

What an exciting day for our colleagues in Spain – last week’s opening event of Fujifilm’s new office in Alcobendas, Madrid. Both Toshi Ida, President and Managing Director, FUJIFILM Europe GmbH, and the Managing Director of Fujifilm Iberia, Pedro Mesquita, served to officially open Fujifilm’s new facilities. During the event, a press conference was held with healthcare and economic media journalists attending Toshi Iida’s presentation. The Madrid office is the most important in the Iberia region, after the also newly renovated headquarters located in Barcelona, embracing all the company’s areas of work: Healthcare, Photography and Graphic Communication, industrial materials and solutions, business innovation, etc.

Did you know that the most essential area for Fujifilm in Spain is healthcare? During a presentation that day, Toshi Ida confirmed the fact that Healthcare accounts for 45% of business in Spain, compared to 32% worldwide. Overall, all the Fujifilm divisions worldwide recorded almost 18.4 billion euros in annual turnover in March 2022. Of which 82 million euros were generated in the Spanish market, showing its importance.

Decorate Your Home – Instax mini Evo

How can you make a home really YOUR home? Definitely by decorating and giving it your personal touch, expressing your true self. This is also what you do with our Instax cameras, you express yourself. Our colleagues from Instax Spain have partnered with Westwing España, which are going to show us which decorative styles are those that fit best with our amazing Instax mini Evo.

If you have not heard about it yet, the Instax mini Evo is one of our latest additions to the Instax family. Although it is a camera that offers multiple digital functions: from 10 different lens and film effects to various shooting modes, its design is reminiscent of that of a full-fledged vintage camera. Therefore, we like to call the Instax mini Evo black a ‘vintage-looking hybrid’. With its classic shape and design, the camera has that elegant and refined finish. For that reason, it is perfect to have as an additional decorative element, giving final touches to your vintage or industrial home decoration style.

Vintage decorative style

You have probably already seen and noticed it, everything comes back. We already know that there are things that never go out of style. Neither does Vintage, which is characterized by the use of furniture with a worn appearance and the reuse of old pieces from between the 20s and 70s. This decorative style manages to bring a lot of personality and charm in any house. Now to the more important part… Where to place the camera? Place your instax mini Evo where it can be seen, like on a console in the hall, so that when you enter the house both you and your guests see this detail. This will not only create the perfect vintage look in combination with a console that has a worn effect, it will also ensure that you never forget it before leaving home!

Industrial Style

For everyone who wants the perfect mix of materials such as metal, leather, cement and untreated wood, the industrial characteristic style of the 60s is your perfect match. This style goes perfectly with the black and metallic colors of the Instax mini Evo. Let’s be realistic, in a dining room of this style you can not miss a large metal shelf that brings character to the room. Combine it with accessories such as chandeliers, trays, concrete vases and… With the Instax mini Evo! So, let’s get ready to add a more characteristic and powerful touch to the room and amaze everyone when visiting you!

Did you get inspired to overthink your interior and decoration style again? Don’t forget to get yourself some unique furniture pieces and of course, don’t forget to get your own Instax mini Evo!

instax at Energy Music Tour in Berlin

After two years, the Radio Energy Music Tour was finally BACK! Seven international acts and an awesome atmosphere have made this event at Tempelhofer Habor Berlin on August 20, 2022, unforgettable.

How could it be otherwise, the weather of course did not play along, but no one let it ruin their mood. The evening already started with great music acts performing on the floating stage like Justin Jesso, Leony, Kelvin Jones, Glockenbach and many more. But what would such an event be without a grand final. At the end, the event was closed with stunning fireworks.

Our colleagues from instax Germany have been part of this event too. The instax promotion team has cooperated with Saturn and captured the awesome evening with our instax mini 40. Subsequently, we were able to give you a little souvenir of the evening in form of instax instant pictures to take home.

We enjoyed the evening and loved to see some of you!

instax at Glow by dm

We still cannot believe it. After two years, the GLOW Convention by dm opened its doors again from August 13 to August 14, 2022, in Essen, Germany. Thousands of visitors, including our instax Germany team, came and celebrated together with more than 80 brands, the world of beauty and lifestyle. Of course, we could not miss this awesome event and participated with our own instax booth. Our colleagues cannot put in words how great it was to see some of our instax fans finally in real life again!

It is always exciting to be part of GLOW since there is always so much to discover: inspiring brands, music acts, DIYs, giveaways, meet & greets and so much more. Our booth came with a surprise for our fans too… We had arranged a meet & greet with influencer Julia Fröhlich and Alina Mour, so that you had the chance to get to know them. From this emotional moment, visitors have been able to take a signed instax picture home with them.

Nonetheless, there have also been a ton of instax products which have been waiting for you to test them. The instax mini 11 and the instax SQ 1, as well as our instax mini Link Smartphone printer have been presented at our booth.

We hope you had an amazing time with us and our instax products. If you have not done it already, please share your impressions and memories with us on Instagram @instax_de.
