How To: 3 Ideas for Capturing the Beauty of Spring

Spring is a wonderful time of year for photography, as nature comes back to life and offers us a wealth of colors and subjects. Here are three ideas for perfect spring photos and the right camera settings for the Fujifilm X-T4.

Capture blossoms

In spring, many trees and shrubs are in full bloom, providing a great opportunity for colorful and beautiful photos. To capture the beauty of the blossoms, it is recommended to use a large aperture to achieve a shallow depth of field and highlight the main subject. The Fujifilm X-T4 offers a maximum aperture of f/1.2, which is ideal for this type of photo.

Camera settings for flower photography:

  • Aperture: f/1.2 – f/2.8
  • ISO: 100 – 400
  • Shutter speed: Depending on the brightness of the day and movement of the subject, between 1/60 – 1/200 seconds.
  • Focus: Set the focus on the main subject to bring it into sharp focus, and use the bokeh effect for an attractive background blur.
Capture landscapes in full bloom

Spring is also a great time to take landscape photos to capture the beauty of nature. When photographing a wide landscape with flowering trees or fields, it is recommended to use a small aperture to achieve a greater depth of field and capture more details in the landscape.

The Fujifilm X-T4 offers a maximum aperture of f/16, which is ideal for these types of photos.Spring is also a great time to take landscape photos to capture the beauty of nature. Macro shots of flowers and insects

In spring, there are many insects and flowers that provide an excellent opportunity for macro shots. For such shots, it is advisable to use a high depth of field to bring the subject into focus and capture details. The Fujifilm X-T4 offers a maximum magnification of 0.5x, which is ideal for these types of photos.

Camera settings for macrophotography:

  • Aperture: f/8 – f/16
  • ISO: 200 – 800

  • Focus: Use manual focus or autofocus with spot metering to focus on the main subject. Also use focus peaking mode to check the focus point and make sure the subject is in focus.

Additional tips for perfect spring photos:

  • Use the natural light of the day for natural and soft lighting in your photos. Avoid direct sunlight or strong shadows, which can affect colors or overexpose the subject.
  • Experiment with different perspectives to capture the subject from different angles and create interesting compositions.
  • Use RAW mode to have more flexibility in post-processing your photos.
  • Also use the Fujifilm X-T4’s Film Simulation mode to create different color effects and moods in your photos.

With these tips and camera settings, you can take beautiful and perfect photos with your Fujifilm X-T4 this spring. Have fun with your photography!

Fujifilm and Henkel Partnership to Boost Sustainable Packaging Solutions

Fujifilm Graphic Communications has announced a new partnership agreement with Henkel Adhesive Technologies to provide production and sustainability benefits to customers of Fujifilm’s upcoming digital inkjet water-based Jet Press FP790 flexible packaging solution.

Henkel Adhesive Technologies is a renowned global brand that produces innovative adhesives, sealants and functional coatings for the packaging sector. The collaboration between the two companies has facilitated extensive testing of Henkel’s laminating adhesives during the development of the Jet Press FP790.

The partnership has undertaken a series of post-press tests to ensure compatibility with the Jet Press FP790 ink as well as verify adhesion properties and lamination performance in post-press production. Henkel’s solvent-free laminating adhesives have produced excellent results, making them Fujifilm’s recommended solution for use in combination with its Jet Press FP790 digital flexible packaging press.

“With the challenging demands of the flexible packaging market, particularly the short turnaround times and regulatory requirements, we wanted customers of our Jet Press FP790 to be in the best possible position to maximize the production opportunities from day one. Working with such a renowned global brand as Henkel, and having access to its market-leading laminating adhesives and the support of its technical team, has enabled us to undertake thorough post-press testing of flexible packages produced by the Jet Press FP790.”

Manuel Schrutt, Head of Packaging at Fujifilm Graphic Communications EMEA

Fujifilm’s Jet Press FP790 digital inkjet flexible packaging solution is set to be launched later this year, offering high-quality 1200 x 1200 dpi image reproduction and the ability to reproduce over 90% of the PANTONE color gamut. The solution also incorporates an environmentally friendly design that uses water-based inkjet print technologies to deliver high production output for mainstream applications. It features two dedicated white inkjet channels for high white opacity, making it an ideal solution for sustainable packaging.

Stefan Gloetzel, Senior Business Development Manager, Packaging Adhesives at Henkel Adhesive Technologies, was delighted with the outcome of the partnership. He said,

“It is always gratifying to work with like-minded organizations that are committed to delivering the best possible solutions for their customers. We have been extremely impressed with the test results, which demonstrated that the solvent-free laminating adhesives, including grades from our RE range, perform seamlessly with the quality print output from Fujifilm’s FP790 digital packaging press.”

Stefan Gloetzel, Henkel Adhesive Technologies

The new Jet Press FP790 digital flexible packaging solution, along with examples of post-press lamination solutions using Henkel’s solvent-free laminating adhesives range, will be showcased on Fujifilm’s stand at Interpack 2023 (Hall 8a, Stand F65).

The partnership between Fujifilm and Henkel is an excellent example of how collaboration between industry leaders can help to drive sustainable packaging solutions forward. By working together, companies can bring together their expertise to produce environmentally friendly and efficient products that meet the demanding needs of the market while reducing their impact on the environment.
