  • Sunday: Guest speaker is commercial portrait photographer Jim Marks
  • Monday: Guest speaker is street photographer Matt Hart

In 2015 we took to the streets of Birmingham. In 2016 we will explore the Urban Landscapes of the NEC

Free Photowalk – 17:00 on Saturday 19th March @ The Birmingham NEC

At 5pm we’ll be meeting up outside the NEC to start a free photowalk exploring the Abstract in the Landscape. This photowalk is also part of Capture Birmingham‘s weekend of events celebrating photography in and around Birmingham.

The NEC in Birmingham plays host to The Photography Show, but how many of you have stopped to marvel at the wealth of visual opportunities that the architecture around the exhibition holds?

This is a photowalk with a difference, there is no one key shot, it is designed to push your creativity and challenge you to see beyond the normal everyday images.

Most the images available are quite abstract, some stunningly simplistic, combining line, arc, reflection and light to give graphically designed photographs that can inspire you to look deeper into your normal subjects.

Paul Sanders, former Picture Editor of The Times, Fujifilm X-Photographer and Light and Land tour leader will guide you around the NEC hunting for images that go beyond the convention
