Is the Fujifilm X system ready for motorsport?

Recently we were lucky enough to spend some time with four professional motorsport photographers at the 6 Hours of Fuji event at the Fuji Speedway in Japan. All four of these guys have been shooting with Fujifilm X series cameras and lenses as their main systems for a varying number of years so we asked them about their experiences.

If you are thinking about making the switch and are not sure if the system is ready yet, check out these videos below!

John Rourke from the UK

Dirk Bogaerts from Belgium

Andrew Hall from Australia

Jeff Carter from the UK

  1. Dear Fujifilm, as first thanks for this review.
My name is Felice and I am a professional MotoGP photographer based in Italy. Well…in the next Italian round at Mugello Circuit I will have the opportunity to test for Fujifilm Italy the brand new X-PRO2 with the 50-140 and the 100-400 plus the 1.4x converter.
I have read some reviews about the 100-400 but no one have clarified my doubts….
From your point of view, do the AF performance of the X-PRO2 combined with the XF100-400 lens can be sufficient for the speed of the MotoGP bikes? I’m speaking in terms of capabilities do engagement and following the bikes during the track session.
No doubt about the image quality of Fuji…I’m already a FujiX user with X-E1, X-E2 and some lens!
Thanks in advance for a response.
